  • Technical Director (Dungeonmaster)
    • Work with directors, stage managers, and floor managers to develop lighting, scenery, props and special effects for a bi-monthly improv show.
    • Coordinate technical needs for a variety of opening acts, including live bands, movies, and comedians.
    • Stage manage and run sound for shows.
  • Assistant Technical Director (AFI Festival)
    • Support the technical director during preparation, running, and completion of a major Hollywood film festival. Primary point-of-contact for the hospitality village, a temporary construction of five event tents.
    • Draft preparatory documentation for vendors, including telecommunications layouts and sound needs.
    • Develop an auditing system for issuing technical assets to staff and tracking assets in circulation.
    • Supervise vendors and staff during construction and strike of the hospitality village as well as during the festival.
    • Build and strike video, phone, data, lighting, electrical, and sound installations for the hospitality village.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve all technical problems during the film festival, not only for behind-the-scenes concerns, but also for festival honorees, sponsors, VIPs, and members of the press.
    • Coordinate video, lighting, sound, and personnel matters for special events during the festival.
    • Write a wrap report documenting all technical aspects of the festival and suggesting changes for next year.
  • Light Designer/Master Electrician (IAJE Conference, LA Theater Center, LA Derby Dolls, Write Act Repertory)
    • Determine the electrical capabilities of venues, and design production lighting for a variety of clients. When necessary, support the venue by bringing in additional power or making electrical repairs.
    • Draft circuit plots, instrument plots, electrical distributions and tracking sheets for theatrical productions.
    • Supervise light and electrical load-in.
    • Supervise hang and focus of lighting equipment.
    • Work with directors to design and write light cues for performances.
    • Program lighting control boards, or direct stage managers and lighting technicians in programming.
    • Transform a former bowling alley into a roller derby arena: distribute electrical load, adapt existing hang points for theatrical lighting rather than industrial lighting.
  • Stage Manager (Grownups on the Playground, Diesel Store Opening, Rock & Republic Fifth Anniversary Party)
    • Act as on-site agent for directors or event producers when a show is running. Prior to opening, work with directors, technical staff, actors, and musicians to prepare show for performances.
    • Set schedules for actors, run rehearsals, and arrange rehearsal spaces.
    • Work with technical staff to ensure that technical rehearsals run smoothly and efficiently.
    • Assist light and sound techs with load-in and load-out of equipment.
    • Coordinate with performers to ensure prompt appearances on stage during performances.
    • Develop prop plots, running order, and timetables.
    • Run live shows.
